What is ServiceIQ?
We are a Service Industry Training Organisation that promotes training in hospitality. We want to see a greater uptake of that training, and to meet our goals of increased achievement of nationally recognised qualifications. Although we will focus on businesses that are committed to training and to achieving measurable results, our services and offer to the wider hospitality industry, including schools, will continue, with some adaptations.
However, we do not have regional representation. Our staff are based in our offices in Wellington and Auckland. There will continue to be training programmes available to regional hospitality businesses, and some of our staff may travel to different regions from time to time. ServiceIQ's Modern Apprenticeship programme is supported by contracted Regional Modern Apprenticeship Co-ordinators, based in Southland, Nelson, Wellington, Napier and Auckland.
If you are a current client, with staff currently registered on programmes with us, we have Training Advisors, working on a transition basis, to continue to support you and help the trainees to complete their programmes. These Training Advisors are based in Auckland and Wellington, and their support will include a mix of visits and phone calls, to assist and monitor trainee progress. What happened to HSI (Hospitality Standards Institute)?
HSI has transformed into ServiceIQ, the new Industry Training Organisation (ITO) for the Aviation, Travel, Tourism, Museums, Hospitality, Retail and Wholesale sectors of New Zealand’s service industry.
On 1 January 2013, HSI, the Retail Institute and the Aviation, Tourism and Travel Training Organisation merged into ServiceIQ. There are clear synergies across the sectors that each ITO represented and the new organisation will deliver better value to our stakeholders through economies of scale.
It's business as usual as we still set standards, develop qualifications and help people grow careers in not only the hospitality sector but also the sectors outlined above.
