National Certificate in Hospitality (Foundation Skills) - (Level 1)
This qualification is for people who are studying in a secondary school or early tertiary environment. It is awarded to candidates who have demonstrated that they have the foundation skills and knowledge necessary to enter the hospitality industry including:
- Preparation for service
- Serving food to customers
- Basic beverage service
- Basic cookery methods
- Cleaning methods and processes
- Customer care techniques
- Telephone techniques
- Complaint handling principles
You will have demonstrated knowledge of one or more hospitality industry areas:
- Hospitality departments
- Commercial food sources and costs
- Glassware, cutlery, crockery, and accommodation types and costs
