This New Zealand Hotel Council Diploma – with strands in Rooms Division and Food & Beverage - is aimed at supervisors and managers working in the hotel industry. It covers topics such as accounting, food and beverage management, host responsibility, staff recruitment, problem solving and all aspects of departmental management in a hotel.
Who is it for?
- Candidates should be in a supervisory/team leader role or looking at moving to a supervisory role in the near future
- The Rooms Division strand is marketed to those in front office or accommodation-based work
- The Food & Beverage strand is marketed to those in F&B management or events and banqueting
- Kitchen supervisory staff who are looking at moving out of the kitchen also find this course beneficial.
How does it work?
- Candidates attend three block workshops, two covering core management units and the third covering their elective
- Candidates also have access to monthly mentoring on academic or business topics
- Assessments are project based and initial work is done at the workshop and completed in the workplace.
