LCQ
What is the LCQ?
The Licence Controller Qualification (LCQ) is the “Prescribed Qualification” which is required to demonstrate that those applying for or renewing their General Managers Certificate have received “Recent and Relevant Training” as set out in the 1999 Sale of Liquor Act Amendment.
The LCQ encompasses Unit Standards:
- 4646 – Demonstrate knowledge of the Sale of Liquor Act 1989 and it’s implications for licensed premises
- 16705 – Demonstrate knowledge of host responsibility requirements as a duty manager of licensed premises
The District Licensing Agency (DLA) which is the Liquor Licensing divison of your Local City Council requires all applicants applying for or renewing their General Managers (GM) Certificate to hold this qualification.
To obtain the LCQ applicants must:
- Complete LCQ Training through one of the Training Providers listed under What Training do I need?
- Successful applicants complete the LCQ Application Form located under LCQ Forms
- Once your LCQ Certificate is received from HSI you must apply for your General Managers Certificate through the District Licensing Agency
