Nicole Blank – Salty Dog Inn

When Nicole Blank walked into Warkworth’s Salty Dog Inn four years ago and asked for some part-time work, owners Jo and Caleb Gradwell immediately saw her potential.

Today, Nicole is a skilled restaurant supervisor with Salty Dog Inn and is looking to a long and rewarding future in the hospitality industry.

“My bosses at Salty Dog Inn are really into advancing their employees and put me on a Modern Apprenticeship programme in hospitality operations run through HSI. Their support and encouragement gave me the confidence to give it a go.”

Nicole has become an invaluable member of the Salty Dog Inn team. “We saw the potential in Nicole and it’s great to see it realised, she’s a real asset and adds value to the business,” says Jo.

Nicole’s new skills have helped the restaurant to improve business. “We’ve been so pleased with the results, we’re looking to more advanced training for Nicole,” says Caleb.
