What is Gateway?
Gateway is a structured workplace pathway programme for school students to transition from the school environment into the workplace. It's about students completing a work placement and having their learning assessed against unit standards on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF).
Workplace learning is a formalised learning arrangement set in an HSI-registered workplace, with staff that have a clear understanding of the knowledge and skills to be attained, and the assessment of unit standards.
Where can Gateway be done?
In an HSI-registered workplace such as a local cafe, restaurant or hotel. Gateway can also be done through the McDonald's OASIS Programme.
